What we do
We are a design and production agency
transforming existing materials into unique pieces.
From sourcing to storytelling, we design, produce, and activate upcycled products, turning waste into meaningful brand experiences.
We deconstruct the past to sew the future.
Every piece tells a story.

MANUFACTURE

Whether it's from your "waste" or our partners', we provide high quality production in Europeean and Mediteranean workshops.
ACTIVATE

Engage your community through live upcycling workshops.
Clients, athletes or employees cut used materials (jackets, kites, banners…). We sew them on site.
They leave with a unique upcycled piece, and a story to tell.
“We’re committed to keeping gear in use for as long as possible. When repair is no longer an option, we look for responsible ways to extend the life of the materials. It’s encouraging to see Artefact tackling upcycling at scale, turning gear that can’t be repaired into new, functional products with purpose.”
About us
For 6 years, Artefact has resolved the outdoor paradox by creating high-performance and lifestyle gear from the most complex technical waste.
We have mastered the art of turning used materials, from waders to kites, into premium, durable products.
We are now scaling our unique savoir-faire to help industry leadersindustrialize their circularity.
FAQ
Answered questions.
We also work with event agencies, branding and communication agencies, institutions, retailers and corporate teams who want to activate their community through meaningful, hands-on experiences or products.
Whether you are a global brand or a growing company, we adapt to your scale and ambition.
If you already have unused stock, leftovers, damaged products, communication banners or technical fabrics, we can transform them into new products or workshop experiences.
If not, we can source high-quality materials through our trusted partners and network. In both cases, we carefully assess material quality to ensure the final product meets our durability and performance standards.
- Technical outdoor fabrics (jackets, tents, kites, sails, etc.)
- Natural materials and textiles
- Advertising banners
- Surplus or unsold stock
The key factor is quality. To guarantee a durable and functional final product, the original material must meet minimum resistance and performance standards. We always conduct a material assessment before starting production.
Here are a few examples of what we can create together :
- Packs and carry : technical or lifestyle backpacks, drybags, hip packs, accessories...
- Specialized gear : bikepacking bags, running vests, climbing equipment...
- Apparel : waterproof shells, technical shirts, pants, and weather-resistant layers.
- Headwear : caps and bucket hats.
What is outside our scope?
We focus exclusively on everything that is sewn or welded. We do not manufacture hard goods.
We can collaborate with your in-house designers or external creative teams.
You may also engage us exclusively for:
- Workshop activation
- Prototyping
- Material transformation
- Product industrialization
Our studio adapts to your existing ecosystem.
A live upcycling workshop can be designed and set up in as little as two weeks.
For product development projects, such as creating a technical ultralight mountaineering backpack, timelines typically range from 3 to 6 months, including design, prototyping and testing phases.
In many cases, timing depends as much on your internal validation process as on production itself. We always work with a clear and realistic roadmap.
We regularly operate in Paris, across the Alps, and internationally depending on the project.
Our work travels easily, whether for workshops, events or product development.
